    Matter is shrinking?
How can we prove which is really occuring? Hubble redshift can be explained by shrinking matter I've heard.

If matter were strinking wouldn't we notice? Or are we strinking very slowly?

    Mike.

Wouldn't it be that we, as observing beings, wouldn't notice if matter was either expanding or shrinking if everything was doing it at the same rate? Or at least matter that was close enough to observe was moving at a near enough rate?
Wouldn't it be all relative to us? Kinda like the sand inm an egg timer filling and emptying. The doing it again and again. Expansion, retraction, expansion, retraction. If the sand falling is moving close to speed of light (and matter's expanding) the sand at the neck and above is now moving slower than when it had been falling (slower therefore reducing).

so we'd be shrinking while we're growing up even though we're growing?

I suppose that's why old people get really really small

Where does blueshift fall into this crazy shrinking theory?

Unless they were being shifted really really quickly. Like constantly firing them out of a catapult.
