i have a samsung spinPoint 750 GB HD753LJ , i had it in an enclosure and i knocked it over when it was reading info, it wont work now, makes some beeping sounds three short followed by one long beep.

I cant get the info off it, i've been on their site and there is no mention of the beeps in the manual.

Have tried it in different enclosures, other PCs , directly into another pc etc, and no joy, brought it to a recovery place and they said there was internal damage, took my initial 95 euro and said that it would need to go to the UK at a cost of 1.5 to 3K , i dont have that sort of money, but i'd like the photos off it.

Maybe someone knows where i can find out what the beep codes are.?? no word from samsung.

    any help would be appreciated.

this exact problem happened to a friend of mine. difference is, it happened to him 2 weeks before he had to hand in his FYP for college. he HAD to get the contents back and thus had to pay the 2.5k to retrieve the info.

he looked around for only about a day or two. couldnt finad anything cheaper. had to take out a loan.

hard drives can get buggered like that. i dont think youll find an alternative solution.

unless you befriend someone in forensic IT

ontrack data recovery in the uk is what we use in work. They are alot cheaper then 2.5k. Last one i sent away was only 700€ but i'd imagine we have a corporate account with them and a heavy discount.
