    Where did you see this? There's probably a club registered, but it's most likely inactive - it just looks good having a big list of clubs in prospectives!

    This is the thread to pimp your club / society or ask questions about societies in WIT.

    All further threads on the matter will be referred to this thread and locked.

    Do not start posting on it though as it doesn't have a long lifeline.

    (Based on the UCD Thread)

    Computer Society up and running this year. There are 4 of us altogether running it, with the help from some companys. Overall aim is to be everything IT. Dont have the full list with me but I believe what will be covered is talks from Google/Microsoft/IBM and visits to their workplace. Training to use a computer and basic repairs. Discounts on all PCs/Laptops upgrades/repairs/building etc. Discounts on student software. Theres a good bit more, but my memory has failed me. :/

    Any questions, send me a PM. If you wish to join its €3 registration and this can be supplied by going to Clubs & Socs (thats at the start of the R building, beside the WITCard/Pool Room) and filling out the forum. Society is SOCANET or Computer Society.

    Just a quicky..

    Young Fine Gael have started up in the college in recent weeks with a large member base. Had a stall on Clubs & Socs day on main campus and most recently in college street. Will post back with more info later. For now, all registration/enquires to wityfg@gmail.com. :)

    With regards to the Computer Society - currently awaiting Computer Services to setup the server. Slow progress I am afraid :/

    Students probably already know about the recent campaign by the colleges Young Fine Gael branch to get a petition together to urge the government to act on this and grant University Status. An online version of the campaign has just been launched less then an hour ago. Those who have not signed it (its open to everybody, not just students) are free to now sign the online version;

    http://www.PetitionOnline.com/yfguni/petition.html

    The above will be printed on completion (not sure when) and merged with the already printed version floating around the college at the moment. If you have signed the one in the college, then you do not need to add your signature to the above as it is already on this petition.
