UTV NAT problem

    Hi guys,

after reading through all of the NAT type problems for at least two hours and not found a solution to my problem, only then did i decide to create a thread.

    PROBLEM:

    ISP : UTV
NAT : Type 2, I know people say it's fine but fact is it's not. Need to get to type 1 for clan in COD4, Otherwise it's an absolute pain in the asre..
    Router: BTVoyager2110

Checked out the portforward.com website and it told me that the router didn't have enough ports for PSN. Instead to set it up as a DMZ or to "bridge" the router. i set up a fixed ip for my ps3 as 192.168.1.150, and in turn set this address as the DMZ.

    Still NAT Type 2...

I read somewhere that the UTV router is a doing two things at once or something but got lost in talk to complicated for my knowledge. too many abbreviations!

I seen the video on Youtube about using PPPOE, after ringing technical support i realised that either he didn't know what it was, or I don't have one like eircom customers have.

If anyone can shed some light on this I would make sweet, passionate love to them all night long... or just say thanks and be very greatfull! ur choice!

You are doing something wrong. I've played COD with NAT 2 without issue. In fact, I've played many online games on PS3 and PC with NAT2.

Maybe you are not forwarding all the needed ports. What is not working on COD?
    Can you load the game?
Can you you connect to a server?
    Can you voice chat etc?
What are the too many abbrieveations you don't understand?

    Need more info.

UTV (and BT) have network problems at the moment also, ongoing for over a week.

Not sure if this is related to your problem, but it may contribute. Particularly time outs etc.

I have UTV showing NAT2 on my router, and I've never had a problem with CoD4 online.

When connecting to a game, when somebody with NAT Type 1 is the host, they can connect to games NAT 2 can't, hence u get left behind... It's slightly bearable but very annoying.. Also, alot of people have problems connecting to me and visa versa..

have made my ps3 the DMZ - as router not capable of forwarding all necessary ports for psn.

Can somebody please tell me if it is possible to obtain a pppoe password from UTV, as this would solve all my problems.

Impossible, as UTV do not use PPPoE. NAT 2 is as good as you will get.

Odd, my router is setup using PPPoE?

    And from u.tv:

    Driver: PPPoE
    VPI: 8
    VCI: 35
    Set up type: LLC
