RTW Travel Question about Argentina

Hi can anyone advise or even point me in the right direction to answer my question....

6 of us have booked our RTW trip starting end Nov. Flying into Argentina and leaving from Chile 3-4months later, only problem is i heard that if we do not have and outgoing flight/bus/train out of Argentina we may be denied access to the country. Is this true? We do not intend to stay in any one SA country longer than allowed but do not want to arrive to be told to go home. Thanks for reading and helping me out

    Derek

I didn't have any problems entering Argentina w/o an onward ticket when I visited a few years back. Don't think I was even asked this tbh. It should be quite clear to any immigration official when they see a wad of coupons in your RTW ticket that you're not planning on hanging around Argentina for too long. Give the Argentine embassy a bell if you're still worried about it.

Currently at the tail end of a similar trip. We were told that it was the airlines that enforce this rule, as they have to pay the fee in the event that you get deported.

To be on the safe side we booked fully refundable flights out of Argentina(into Montevideo, the cheapest we could find). We then cancelled the flights once we had left Argentina.

We were actually asked at the airport prior to entering Mexico for proof of our flights out. We hadn't booked any at that stage but were let on the plane after the check in guy made some phone calls

I had this problem in Costa Rica, but never in Argentina. LAN does full refunds on flights (within 24hours of booking) so they're good if you want to be sure.
