Seens as nobody else responded, I thought I better, even though its probebley too late now. I'm not a mechanic but I can tell you one thing for sure, taking a gearbox out of a pajero is no easy job, I just did a clutch in mine a month ago, so I know this for a fact.

As regards the bearing, go to a garage where you know there are good experienced mechanics, as alot of garages will just send the gearbox off to a specialist, which will cost you more. In reality gearboxs are not that complicated and depending on what bearing is gone, it should be within the capabilities of most competent mechanics.

As I said I'm not a mechanic, but I would imagine labour is going to be the big part of the bill if you have to drop the box out
