Medion PC + TV Card

I recently purchased a Medion 8393 PC which has an already installed TV tuner card.
I have spent most of today trying to set it up with SKY digital. The manual is
really non existant as regards setup, I have been trying to set it up in Windows Vista Media player but it finds no signal.
AT this stage I am begining to wonder if it si possible at all. What I have done is take a input from a spare connection on the SKY dish LNB direct to the tuner card input connection. The coax is good as I have checked it with a Sky BOX & TV and it is working perfectly. the only think I notice is the power from the sky box to the LNB is 16Volts while its only 12.5 Volts from the PC tuner card.
Has anyone out there set up a similar connection as some practical advice at this stage would be very welcome.
Is there something I am overlooking or is there a guide out there somewhere as to how to do this.

    Thank you

Have a look at this link:
    http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/skymceintegration.html

Might give you a clue, I have mine working with NTL, I had to install MCE Software Encoder to get it to recognise Cable. I presume your Sky box has its own tuner, so I imagine going through your TV card won't work. Does the Sky set-top box have any other connections like s-video or composite?

I presume you meant Vista Media Center rather than Media Player, I had to get a Microsoft remote Control which comes with a blaster which you stick over the IR window on the set-top box to change channels for viewing or recording.

Have a look here as well:

They have some good info on this kind of thing.

Media Center is good when you have it working but I found it difficult when you need to change something, you have to go through the whole setup again.

I also use Cyberlink PowerCinema which I found much easier to setup and make changes to when neccessary. You can download a trial version here:

Sorry I can't be more helpful but I haven't a clue when it comes to satellite TV.

Thanks for the information. Have not had the time to check it out as yet.
I am still confused as to the TV cards ability to tune in digital CHs direct from the Sat. Dish or if one just takes a feed off the set-top box.
To operate the LNB a voltage is required which is fed to the LNB via the COAX cable.
The Sat type connection on the Medion TV card outputs about 12 Volts which let me to believe direct feed might be possble.
There are two inputs on the TV card, one is the normal TV type aerial connection and the other is screw type Satellite connection.
I will keep trying, its a pity they gave no info in the manual about what it is possible to tune in to.
    Thanks for the reply
