Firefox really slow

I find that firefox has gone really slow, loads of beach balls and the occasional freeze up or crash. Sometimes as I type an address or switch tabs it seems to take a while to catch up. Safari is fine so it isn't my connection and I've 10Gb Ram so it isn't that either!! Am I alone here or are others experiencing the same…

Have you got a lot of add-ons installed? One of them might be misbehaving or causing a conflict with another.
