    Hi all.
First time having a problem with my ipod and I need a bit of help.

I tried to connect my ipod to my computer this morning, but it's not working. It's not being found in 'My Computer', nor in iTunes. I restarted my Laptop and similarly my ipod and tried again, but nothing. I've used different USB ports, too, but nada. It's not even charging.

The weird thing is when I connect the ipod to the usb cable, the ipod itself 'lights up'.

The only thing I can think of is that I didn't update to the latest iTunes, but I didn't yesterday either and it worked fine then.If it is this, how can I update my iTunes when not prompted to do so?

I've searched google and trawled through dodgy forums, but other than resetting it, I've got no new ideas. Any ideas would be lovely!
    Thanks!
