    I am not aware of any phone that would accept a U.S. in N.Y.C

    It would take a helluva memory card.

    A Sony Ericsson k800i should work without issues in the US once it's unlocked with a US SIM. Just make sure the network you're buying from supports the phone frequnecys. My sister used Cingular (or AT&T .. think they're the same) when she was over there in her Irish phone without troubles.
