Reccomend me something cool to learn

Hi folks,

Im by no means a pro web developer - i do a bit here and there. And lots of internal stuff for my job.

I have designed sites using JSPs/Servlets , ASP, VB.NET of late. Have also done a couple of sites in Django - which is very cool.

Googles App Engine is something I want to mess around with - was hoping it fully supported Django when released, but it didnt support databases or the databases in django(as far as i can remember) so that turned me off it.

What is new and exiting in this area that I could learn. Can anyone recommend me something?

You could test out your javascript by writing and addon for firefox??

Ruby on Rails (is on my long list of things to have a look at);
The Dojo javascript framework has lots of good stuff included (and is now integrated with the latest release of the PHP Zend Framework...so there's two in one for you!)
