    Hi cheekay...

What you posted shows the various options available for the particular Studio 15 laptop that you choose. For example, where it says "Up to..." before any of the decriptions you would need to choose a specific option. In the LCD Display section there is a large list of options also. The price will change depending on what you choose when you customize the machine before buying it, so bear that in mind.

I would assume that the price €700 would include the most basic option in each section, in other words, you probably wouldn't get a T9300 (2.5GHz, 6MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB) processor, it would probably be a slower one for the €700. Similarly with the RAM, you probably wouldnt get the full 4GB for the €700, it would probably be 2GB or maybe 3GB. And so on... ... ...

It's just the way that Dell structure things on the website. It can be slightly confusing sometimes. If you were to upgrade that particular machine to the best processor, RAM (as listed in your post) etc... the price would increase from €700 significantly...

Hope thats helpful and not too confusing.

The Studio line from Dell is relatively new so I haven't actually used one but I generally find Dell very reliable and reasonably priced. I have helped a number of others buy them also with no complaints so far...

Incidentally, based on the spec. sheet you provided, even with the €700 options it would still probably be more than adequate for college work assuming its just general Internet, word processing, Email, music etc...

    Head
