After a few months break from international guests down Lunar Disko way, we return this coming October 4th to present a Live performance from an outstanding producer, Raiders of the Lost Arp.

Originally hailing from Roma, Italy, Raiders of the Lost Arp aka Mario Pierro now lives in the tropical climate of Uppsala, Sweden...although he is very much still digitally and physically connected with the Roma sound he has forged with Marco Passarani and Francisco.

Raiders of the Lost Arp's live show is a fusion of Italo,Chicago, and Detroit sounds, which features a combination of vintage analogue synths, drum machines and a laptop. His live show has been performed in numerous top european clubs including Fabric, London, aswell as the Detroit Fuse-In festival in 2006. His live set which Mario has been busy perfecting over the past few years features improvised tracks built on-the-fly as well as excerpts from already released tracks.

We have been fan of this guy for years now, and we are delighted to finally get him down to rock the first Lunar Disko in The (new!) Underground this coming October 4th....dont sleep on this one!

    More info soon.....

    Lunar Disko presents...

    Saturday October 4th @ The Underground, Kennedy's

Raiders of the Lost Arp [LIVE] (Pigna/Nature Records)
Andy Doyle & Jaycee (Lunar Disko)

    Doors:11pm // Adm: e10 before 12 / e12 after.

This coming Saturday we welcome another Italiano to Lunar Disko to rock down the new walls of The Underground!
Mario Pierro aka Raiders of the Lost Arp makes his Irish debut, and will be taking over the Underground's stage with his mountain of gear to perform his killer Live show.

Mario's professional career started in 1996 when he met Marco Passarani from Nature records and together they decided to start a series of projects: releases, radio-shows and organization of parties.

At the beginning the first musical project was called MAT101 and it was founded with Francesco de Bellis (aka Francisco) and Emiliano Tortora who lately decided to split from the band. They've released an album and a couple of singles that helped them to become popular in the electronic underground movement. So far they've produced many live performances, many tracks on compilations and remixes under the alias MAT101.

After 3 years MAT101 decided to start another project called JOLLY MUSIC: While MAT101 is more electro oriented, JOLLY MUSIC is more into psychedelic disco and electroacoustic soul. The first track came out on a FINALFRONTIER 12" sampler with tracks from the rest of the NATURE RECORDS crew and it did get the attention of the most respected underground crews. Then a couple of singles came out in order to anticipate the full length album called "Jolly Bar". As soon as the album came out the reaction from the media was excellent: from England to Italy, from Japan to Germany. After a short while Nature records licensed this album to Sony UK, and even if the end of the story was pretty sad, with the major label not releasing the album, the duo had the chance to experience a great adventure working with some very talented singers (such as Erlend Oye from Kings of Convenience and Sonya Madden from Echobelly) and producers (such as Steve Dub of Chemical Brothers and New Order fame).

As Jolly Music, the duo also remixed artists such as Jamiroquai (accepted by the artist, but never released by the label) and Garbage. In 2002, Mario, Marco Passarani and Francisco created the Pigna label as a sublabel of Nature, in order to release their most dancefloor-oriented tracks.

In 2005, the three guys joined forces to celebrate the 10th release on Pigna, releasing the LP "Let 'em Talk" as Pigna People and playing live at several festivals. When you talk about Mario's solo project Raiders of the Lost Arp, it's impossible not to notice his love for soul, funk and jazz: and that's exactly the flavour you get in Mario's electro-techno live sets.
As Raiders, Mario has released several EPs and one LP: "Electric City Phunk Vol.3" (Plasmek 012), "Drive" (Pigna 003), "3" (Nature, NAT2126), "Funk Series Pt.2" (Pigna 006), "4" (Nature, NAT2125). In 2007, the "Beyond the Dark" EP showed the Raiders of the Lost Arp sound revised by two inspired remixes by Detroit pioneers Galaxy2Galaxy and Los Hermanos. The new Raiders of the lost ARP LP "Tema5" (Nature, NAT2127) was released earlier this year to massive acclaim, and brought Mario's sound to new heights!

Definitely a live show not to be missed by fans of the electro, Chicago, and Detroit sounds!

On support duty on the night we welcome back one of our favourite DJ's, Jaycee. Jaycee is no stranger to the Lunar Disko controls, and you would have seen him last spin the funk before previous guests Bangkok Impact, and DJ TLR down in Kennedys. Andy Doyle will be representing Lunar Disko and playing alongside Jaycee. Expect the lads to take you through the sounds of Italy, Chicago, and Detroit before the Raiders Live show!

We also have a few guestlist passes up for grabs - to be in with a chance, simply send us an email with 'Guestlist' in the subject to lunardiskodublin@gmail.com

Winners will be drawn from the virtual hat and notified by email on Friday afternoon.
