The little things that make your day

Not sure if this has been done before but I thought it might be a little more upbeat than the usual miserable shoite on AH.

What little things make your day, be it things you've seen or people have said to you.

The most memorable for me was a couple of months ago when flying into Dublin and a very home sick KTRIC handed his passport over to the Garda at the little passport control booth and he said in a thick country accent "Welcome home", had me in a great mood for my visit ;)

    getting head
Pighead would have said that but the OP said "little things that make your day". Fair play to you for being so upfront about your wee fella.

Just after coming back from strolling down the town, admiring all the hotties in their tight tops and short skirts... really got to invest in a pair of shades :p

pighead got it wrong, what silence means is that his girlfriend is little. a petite little thing ("little thing that makes your day"). silence likes typing like this. he thinks its funny and now undwerstands why pighead does it.

Damnit, might be seen as personal abuse .. again.

When I wake up in the morning and realise that I have another half an hour before I have to get up

Pedestrain crossings turning green just as I hit the curb so I don't have to break my stride and can keep going imagining that the Shaft Theme is playing and I'm in the opening sequence of my own movie!

A cool breeze on a sunny day is a great feeling. Or else when a busy road goes silent for just a moment and you think that the whole world has come to a stop

Little things that make my day:

Sitting on the couch with a cup of freshly brewed coffee and opening a book I've been looking forward to for a long time.

That feeling when you've just met a deadline by the skin of your teeth, you sit down, close your eyes, breath in, breathe out and relax your shoulders completely. Heaven.

When all the traffic lights are green and traffic is really light.

As with the OP, arriving at Dublin/Cork Airport, passing through customs, into arrivals and stopping to think "I'm home!". Nothing beats that!

Being told by the head of the project that the budget has been slashed and they cant afford you. Then the boss tells you that there is another project starting in a few days. Now what will I do for the next few days while I am between projects.

    SURFS UP!

    ...I fear an answer...

Not directly related to Rainman to my knowledge though how cool would that be!!

No, when it happens I actually stare at my watch until it gets to 12:34:56.

Probably some OCD ****, but weirdly satisfying.

My (sappy) one is coming home and hearing the babby call my name and run over smiling for a hug.

What? When you find money you knock one out?

[gross]Do you let it dry and then hand it in when paying for something in a shop leaving the girl at the till wondering why you are smiling evilly at her? :pac: [/gross]

My children make everyday special for me.

After that its walking/playing with my dogs on Portmarnock beach.

Dreading Judo practice, then going and having a brilliant session.

Watching clips like this, and dreaming of fighting with the same abilities..

A pint of Carlsberg in Campions and a packet of Tayto Pub crisps.
