Well. Composition is nice, however I am not a big friend of HDR, when it starts to look like HDR and not like a picture. I wouldn't hang it in my bedroom, sorry.

Looks more like a painting to me too, albeit a lovely painting!
The Red Rock looks like it was just put there...not saying it was but it just does.

Looks very photoshoppy. Nice colours though. The house is all blurry and there seems to be a magical aura around the rocks....

Maybe it's just me, but practically every photo mag I picked up is crammed full of similar style images, whether someone's gone crazy with a graduated ND or whether they've used HDR, the processed look seems very much in style. Is it just me?

I thought I'd do a proper HDR on this, so got the raw (and permission) from TelePaul:

Yeah I've noticed that and I ain't really a fan. Too much stuff going on. I wouldn't really call it photography. I'd call it.... photoshopography more like. Spend 1/500 of a second taking a pic and 5hours messing around with it.

Yeah but if it's what the masses are into right now, can it be wrong?

    TelePaul,

in principle I quite like what you've done to this photograph, however could not ever see myself looking at it more than once.

I like the sky and I especially like the juxtaposition of the rock facing one way and the perspective of the house falling the other way. I would agree that the photograph looks more like a painting than a photograph.

Thank you Calina. I assume its the wide range in contrast that's creating this 'painting' feel? I can tone it down a bit maybe.

    Thanks dazftw.

I restarted my laptop and the keyboard seems to work fine now.

Yeah, as I was saying, who cares what the masses think? They usually have bad taste anyways. Look at westlife.

I'd look at toning down the sun a little as it's heavily burnt. But for me, the impressing ofpainting is coming more from the house which is almost vaguely impressionistic from where I am sitting.

I really like it tbh. I think I'd go for the first one rather than the hdr.

    I like it!!!

Only thing I would say about it is the aura around the rocks and some other areas of the image but I'm pretty sure there is a way of stopping that from happening!!! I don't know myself!!!

Anyhow over all like the photo!!! :D:D:D

Also I rather the first one than the hdr!!! :P The hdr one is nice though!!! :D

I see what you're saying. The house seems quite soft.

Sorry but don't like it, looks way over processed and unrealistic. Might be slightly better in landscape.

lol, I dont see why I should go into huge detail though, at the end of the day I either like it or I don't and Paul I like it, simple as! It's the kind of shot I wish I could get but I just dont do landscape and scenery well. Honesty or maybe lack of vocabulary:confused::confused::confused:

Seemingly I'm not too hot on landscape or scenery either. Ah well.
