    Hi All,

Just to let you know that the National Day of Volunteering - Give it a Swirl Day - will take place on September 26th. It is being organised by Volunteer Centres Ireland, in conjunction with 17 local volunteer centres across the country.

Give it a Swirl Day is day of hands-on involvement in volunteering. We aim improve public awareness of volunteering and to encourage more people to get involved. Give it a Swirl Day is an opportunity to give a few hours of your time to your local community and make a difference, while having fun, meeting others and discovering the many rewards of volunteering.

Everyone is invited to take part in Give it a Swirl Day, either by organising their own project or by taking part in a project being organised by a local volunteer centre. What you do to mark Give it a Swirl Day is up to you and will depend on the your interests, your skills and on the needs of your local community.

By taking part in Give it a Swirl Day, you are raising the profile of volunteering in Ireland. Seasoned volunteers and those who have never volunteered before are equally welcome. If you are an organisation that works with volunteers, Give it a Swirl Day is a great opportunity to make yourself better known in your local community and to recruit new volunteers.

For more information about Give it a Swirl Day, log onto www.giveitaswirl.ie, email giveitaswirl@volunteer.ie or post a message, we'd love to hear from you :)

    All the best,

    VCI
