Carlton Kinsale - Deals???

    Hi All,

Stayed here recently and really liked it - but as we travel with a 3yr old and an infant the nightly rate was quite steep at circa 200 a night  [family room was actually 3 doubles en suite + kitchette etc. - price seems to be the going rate for family room - I think???]

Anyone know if the Carlton Kinsale ever advertise those attractively priced hotel breaks; 2 nights B&B and 1 dinner etc. etc. and if so where they're advertised and so on?

    - Will chance the arm and ring reception later but thought I'd ask the Boards community for their wisdom also so any thoughts or advice appreciated.

    Raiser

as someone who has been visting kinsale a couple of times a year for the last few years, my advise woud be to avoid the hotels and look at the guest houses in the area. Much better value than the hotels and some of them have a much higher level of accomodation.

As for deals which include dinner .. why would you do that in Kinsale, you'd be mad to want to eat in your hotel with the selection of great resturants in the town and enviorns.

My favourite Guesthouses are Friar's Lodge and The Old Presbytery.

    Hi Whippet,

Your post makes a lot of sense and I'm delighted you took the time to reply - sincere thanks :D

    - Checked out the two Guesthouses you've recommended and they look absolutely superb - will book in at the next opportunity.

    Cheers,

we booked a supervalu club weekend special at this hotel...

the include an evening meal...but be warned they give you a crappy 'special' menu for those on deals!

Have to say, pool was great, but restaurant and bar were a joke!

as I said before on this thread .. you'd be mad to even consider eating in a hotel in kinsale considering the quality and choice of places to eat in kinsale !!
