Hi I wonder if anyone can help me with Smart Car servicing in Ireland please.

Since Smart pulled out of Ireland servicing has been an problem. I believe that there is a dealer in Belfast that does servicing and one in Cork, but I live in Dublin. Does anyone know of anyone closer to home? Thanks

MSL do servicing for Smart in Dublin. They also (finally - after 5 odd years of Smart in Ireland) have the Star Diagnostics.

However having recently tried them for the first time, I wouldn't repeat the experience. I was certainly overcharged compared with bringing the car to Belfast. I cannot praise Isaac Agnew in Belfast highly enough for their levels of customer service.

That said a basic service for the Smart shouldn't involve having to pay for main dealer markup. Neither of these options are cheap. If it is just a basic service then the service level indicator can be reset (google for this) and the oil change etc can be done by any garage. That said idiot that I am, I have always taken the car to a main dealer (mainly because of the exceptional customer service in Belfast)

PM if you need any further details

Your options are Smart of Belfast (aka Isaac Agnew)
Des Golden Services in Cork (he recently did my Smart forfour)
or trip to UK to either an official Smart or Independent servicer
or any garage to do basic oil change and reset the service indicator yourself
(see http://www.evilution.co.uk/ for how to do it)
or if desperate MSL (though I've read nothing but bad things about them)

    see

    http://www.smartcarireland.net/des_golden.html
    http://www.smartz.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=27

In the smartz forum you'll also see that

    Sam (http://www.mcsmarts.co.uk/) and Ian (http://www.bigperformance.co.uk/)
have been known to do servicing on trips over here

I would recommend Des Golden, he wasn't cheap, but I spent less than I would have expected to with Smart Belfast.

I combined the servicing with a weekend trip to Cork
(he gave me a loaner car, so took the family to Youghal)
