    Hi,

As the presenting sponsor of the 2008 World Series of Poker Europe, we’re keen at Betfair Poker to answer any questions or concerns from poker players first and foremost. So, we have established a representative from Betfair Poker at some of the major poker forums to field any questions at all regarding the WSOPE. If there’s anything you’d like to ask, from “What preliminary events are there?” and “How many players are expected?” to “How do I buy in?” and “Where can I stay?”, post it up here or send us a PM and we’ll answer it as quickly and thoroughly as we can. Hopefully before long we will have a comprehensive FAQ so that everyone can get the best from the 2008 WSOPE.

We look forward to answering your questions,

    Betfair Poker Team

how many runners do you estimate the £1500 will get as it would be the only one i would consider playing unless i win a sat into the others. and will there be sng sats on the days for all events?

    thanks

    September 19th - Event #1 - £1,500 - No-Limit Hold'em Day 1A (3-day event/2 opening days)

    September 22nd - Event #2 - £2,500 - H.O.R.S.E. (3-day event)

    September 24th - Event #3 - £5,000 - Pot Limit Omaha (3-day event)

    September 27th - Event #4 - £10,000 - WC No-Limit Hold'em (5-day event/two opening days)

Yes there will be many sit and goes aswell as live feeder satelites into all of the events in the Empire casino.

It is very hard to gage the numbers for this event, as it is the first year we are running it, but with it being the first opportunity to win a bracelet, id imagine both day ones will be close to sell out.

Could you expand a bit on the £1,500 event? As in, starting stack, blind levels and length of blind levels?

    Thanks

Why do Betfair essentially offer two Satellites to any of the WSOPE tournaments (yesterdays qualifier & next Sunday's last chance tourney).

I would have thought it would be in Betfair's interest to have more qualifiers running (i also see no sign of any sort of qualifiers to any other of the bracelet events apart from the Main Event, I'm guessing there would be a decent interest in a PLO bracelet tourney)

Do you have any plans to stage anything further qualifier wise (even maybe a multi table sit n go or the like?) One other slight criticism I would have is that your poker homepage doesn't clearly get across methods to get into the WSOPE or give the WSOPE proper pimpage :-)

All info should be available from :

And apologies about lack of "pimpage" LooseCannon. ;)

Please do continue with any other questions that you may have

thanks betfair but that in no way answers my queries about why you are only actually offering two chances to actually qualify for the WSOPE and NO chances to get into any of the first 3 events, this despite being the title sponser. the schedule you posted in reply to me was just a series of tournaments which all get you in to the one way to qualify (sunday $550 tourney)

to me this makes no sense, surely you should be wanting people to have as many different avenues/chances of qualifying thereby increasing attendance at the event, no?

there are so many satellites you could have offered especially with 4 different bracelet events this year imo and that is something you haven't done

EDIT: please consider running a last chance PLO qualifier or a very large 1,500 event qualifier this week

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 63 ✭✭Betfair

There has been a large emphasis put onto the M.E. and no other online qualifiers as it is THE main focus.

With such a large package being offered ($24,000) it is very hard to arrange any other forms of super satelite with a buy in lower than the $550 currently being offered which you refer to.

Satelites for the £1,500 event in particular, and/or a last chance PLO qualifier are very good suggestions and i will make sure that they are passed on, but they may be too late too implement this year.

Thank your for the suggestions though, please keep them coming
