    Hi folks,

Sincere appreciation for any and all help....

    Budget: Under €700 ideally

Intended use: Wireless Internet , email, storing digital photos, itunes, small bit of word processing or account keeping

Mobility: Not a major factor as it'll probably be kept at home most of the time and just a case of moving from room to room

Warranty: I suppose a warranty for at least a year would be preferable (definitely wouldn't be capable of fixing anything myself :o)

Apologies but I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to laptops - had a packard bell one a few years ago in college but it died off when my brother took it over. Also I haven't used Vista yet but I gather that most new laptops come with this?

I've had a look in PC World and this Samsung R510 caught my eye but I'd really appreciate some feedback as to whether its a good deal and would be suitable for my requirements.

    It has:
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5750
    2Ghz/ 667 Mhz
    4gb RAM
    160GB Hard drive
    15.4' wide display
    Windows Vista
    Integrated webcam
    3 usb ports
    Price €650

    Thanks in advance :)

Hi there. That deal in pcworld aint bad at all. That particular model is only slightly cheaper online from what i could find. Are you intent on buying in a bricks n mortar shop or are you open to buying online??

This acer is 65e more than that samsung but i think it would be worth it for a couple of reasons. For 715e delivered, it has a few advantages over the samsung.Firstly, it has a blu-ray drive. This means its well future proofed in terms of computing and it will allow you to play bluray disc(The successor of DVD) on a flat screen telly if you have one. Those bluray drives dont come cheap in laptops which is why i think that is such a good deal.Furthermore, its hard drive is twice the size of the samsungs at 320gb.All its other specs are fairly similiar to the samsungs. It has the same Core 2 Duo processor and 4gb of RAM.
