    Hi,

Does anyone know the best place in Dublin to get this done, i.e. not too expensive and a good job, I don't want to do this myself...so if anyone knows a good place?

    Thanks

Try PRS (Photographic Repair Services) at Portobello Bridge (just in front of DML - big yellow building). Never had any bother with them.

Is there a reason why you don't want to do the cleaning yourself?

It's not that difficult when you know how.

Well, I have looked online and the methods used, many, many people advising different things, different products etc.....If there is one definate guide or product to doing it I may give it a shop, but as there is so many it is hard to choose...

    Which Camera do you have?

I have used the Visible Dust system & find it quite good. Bought a Box of Pads & some Cleaning Solution from the 7dayshop.

A Friend of mine uses Pec Pads & they seem to work well too.

I think there are a few Threads here on Sensor Cleaning already, they have a lot of information. Like most things ... you just have to find what suits yourself. Maybe meet up with someone who has some cleaning stuff & see how they do it.

I have a Nikon D70....yep, I did do a search on cleaning sensors, so many options to choose from...do you know how much it costs to have it done by a repair service?

I have a D70S myself & it takes about 10 - 15 mins to get the sensor spotless.

I don't know how much it costs to have it done but think it's about €25 to €30, which will buy you enough kit to clean for the next few years.

Okay, well I guess it would be worth learning how to do myself...as you never know when I might need to do it, as you have the D70 also can you advise which products from visable dust system to use?

Have these moved out Blanchardstown direction? Went looking for them recently and was told they were out there??

Ended up getting cleaning swabs...nowhere near as heart stopping as I thought it would be :D Successfully did the D300 and a beer stained D70!!
