I've only been playing it for a couple of minutes and I'm up to 300.
It's addictive and makes you feel like you're doing something worthwhile as well.

    Great! :D

Nice to see other people are doing it.

Since I discovered this yesterday I have donated over 5000 grains of rice in a matter of just a few minutes spare time.

Keep it up and pass on the link.

    :)

I hope a decent percentage of the 105 views have tried this.
It would make a great contribution. :)

Ah. Well you could contact them and ask for proof. :)http://www.freerice.com/contact.html

I don't think the United Nations WFP would be the kind of organisation that would lie about something like this. http://www.wfp.org/english/

    They have stated..
"FreeRice is not sitting on a pile of rice―you are earning it 20 grains at a time. Here is how it works. When you play the game, sponsor banners appear on the bottom of your screen. The money generated by these banners is then used to buy the rice. So by playing, you generate the money that pays for the rice donated to hungry people."

    Sounds alright to me.

I agree though, it would be nice to see some proof, but then again who's to say that the proof given is showing that it's really happening? ;)

Someone else said that as well. Also, when the boss or teacher finds out what it is they don't mind so much, as long as when you have work to do it gets done first apparently.

You never know these days though. Either my eye sight is completely shot or im being a complete idiot i dont see the sponsor banners while playing the game.

I mean is it actually possibly to donate that amount of rice and have a sufficient supply of it and the ability to ship it? I dunno id still like to see pics for proof.

I'd be curious as to whether all the money goes to paying for rice or are they making money themselves off the backs of starving people

It's sponsored by the UN World Food Program . I don't think you have anything to worry about.

There may be a better forum than "Games" for this thread btw.

Just discovered there now that you can actually change the subject of the question to something other than English grammar if desired. Just click where it says "Change Subjects" to the right of "English Vocabulary"

Another thumbs up for the grammar section. :)
