I'm a student looking for a part-time job, have good experience with dealing with people, impressive CV, and appealing reference. What's the best paid part-time job you've worked or know of?

Anything in the public service - time and a half at least at the weekends.

Heard of people who worked in the Maternity hospital (Limerick) - €10+ per hour (a few years ago) and double pay weekends and holidays...Not sure if it's the nicest of jobs though and long hours (and maybe YOU will be asked to miss Christmas / New Years, etc)

Also, have to agree with above poster...

worked in a hospital for few years, great pay, just hard work, mentally draining, alot of ppl in your face all the time, not pleasant! so far best deal I can see is xtra-vision €9.09 per hour, can anyone top that ?

Sounds like drug dealing would suit.

Paddy Power pay quite well... Not certain, but I think it's about E12ph! Certainly better than Xtravision anyways

Marks and Spencer apparently pay well. Heard of a few people leaving where i used to work to go there.

i've always considered the "so how much do you pay" a very cheeky question whilst talking to a manager for the first time. Anybody know a better, quick way to find out how a business pays part-timers, are they even obliged to give out this information over phone?

After 6 months Currys/PC World pay 9.70 to all employees, part-time or otherwise. There are then options to go up the payscale, but I imagine they're for full-time only

Bookshops are quite pleasant places to work imo. Customers are generally nicer, hours aren't unsociable, pay can be decent depending on your definition. Helps if you like books of course.

    P.S.

Mate you've got 3 threads now about part-time jobs and the front page of this forum! How about you just look around and do some research yourself...all your going to get here is wat other people would be seeing around the net.

Best bet would be to try www.jobs.ie
