Linux newbie here as of a few hours ago :o

Can anyone tell me if Mozilla Ubiquity works on Ubuntu eee 8.04? I know its not completely supported on Linux, but I'm getting nothing at all with ctrl+space..

If this is the wrong place to ask, apologies.

    From the user guide.
On Linux, Ubiquity isn't fully supported yet. Some of the commands will work, but others won't. This is because we're missing a system to display output messages. See the section above.

Thanks OP never heard of Ubiquity before I read your post. New toy to play with. :)

Edit Ooops looks like you knew that much already.

Thanks :) Yeah it seems it runs okish on a full Ubuntu install, but I'm getting absolutely nothing on the eee. I'm really loving linux (been windows all my life till yesterday when I took the plunge) but I miss Ubiquity :( Was hoping there was a patch somewhere.

Also, has anyone heard about a linux version of Livemesh in the offing?

Welcome to the other side! :pac: Seriously doubt Microsoft would allow that or bother to develop a port.

Bugger :( Is there a linux (or preferably multi platform) alternative??

On the original topic - got it sorted :D It seems gnome already uses the default launch shortcut so I just had to go to about:ubiquity and change it :D
