Does anyone have any experience with this? I've developed an interest through speaking to someone who suffers from this. I've already googled and all that, I'm not looking for links to any information pages. I would just like to hear about people's personal experiences, either as a sufferer, a counsellor or a friend of a sufferer.

    Hi,

I also know a guy who has this, but it does not appear to affect him too adversely. He hangs around with another guy at college who also has problems and the two are inseparable. For the record, I'm also a bit fecked-up inside the head, but that's another story.

To be honest, this "disease" had much greater frequency in the population once it was advertised nationally in the early 1900's. As a matter of fact, the disease manifests itself almost exclusively in North America (therefore it is a learned response to stimuli). Although it is indeed a disorder, it is most likely started as a psychosematic defense mechanism used by those who experience some sort of severe trauma or abuse.

    HI

I am glad you are asking about first hand experiences about DID rather than information pages. There are a lot of us out here who maintain websites and blogs, and we share everything from personal details, journal-type information, and also research articles on different DID topics. We are folks with DID, therapists, psychologists, etc. You can learn a lot of first hand information - probably more than you want!

You can launch this from my blog - mine is more research based but also personal stuff.

I don't do a forum, but if you want to ask questions, you can leave a comment or write to me and I do posts under the "Dear Ms DID" moniker.

    My best

    Hi Folks

I have noticed several visits to my site from this message board (no, I can't tell who or IP address or anything...just that there was a visit from here).

I was wondering what you thought? Any feedback? Some of the posts at any given time may not be what you are looking for, but here are a couple ways to get specific info about personal DID stuff.

One is to scroll down to "Topic Areas" and select "Understanding DID"

The other is to look at the "Table of contents of all posts" on the right side near top.

There is also a section called "Ze Bloggers" that are other blogs with good information.

Anyway, just wanted to give some resources, and it would be great to know from you if this is what you were looking for or not.

    My best
    Emily
