    Hi All,

I know there have been similar questions to this posted on the site but have been really struggling with this one...

Basically, I have roughly 30GB of music on a desktop mac which I wanted to transfer to my new dell laptop. So transferred the music to an HDD and then copied the music files directly into my itunes music folder on the laptop. Then I tried to consolidate the library using the option in itunes but no joy... I tunes could not find the files and to get them back i would have to click on each one individually... Obviously this would take an age with close to 6000 tracks.

I tried re installing itunes and deleting all of the music files from the itunes music folder but when I reopened itunes all of the files were still there as ghost files - i presume this is cos I haven't done anything with the library files.

Anyhoo, can anyone please help? At the moment I have 3 library files in my itunes folder -two of these are .itl files and one of these is .xml. Have been reluctant to f*ck around with these as i don't really know what i'm doing....

    Please help!
