Munroes cv isnt exactly head and shoulders above dunnnes. Dunne is a much bigger draw here than Munroe is in the uk plus the challenge more than likely involved dunne fighting in the uk and on sky, and as far as im aware but i could be wrong, Dunne is contracted to RTE and in a way fighting in Ireland.
Im sure they could come to some agreement and it may come to a stage where they have to. I think the fight should happen sooner rather than later.

Okay this fight makes 100,000's less in the UK(in both Sterling and Euro) but I don't really care about that anymore because after watching that performance tonight I reckon peters should accept any deal that doesn't involve options(bar a rematch). Rendall Munroe was partially exposed tonight and looked terrible against a very average(but game) fighter.

Matirosian was a poorer fighter technically than Reidar Walstad, he's a poorer fighter technically than Yersin jailouev(although better overall) and yet Munroe not only managed to let this man go the distance, but win quite a few rounds and hurt Munroe on more than one occasion.

Yes Dunne fighting in the UK would mean fighting in Harvey Hadden Leisure centre in front of 900 people, with less than 100,000 watching on Sky as opposed to maybe 10,000 in the new Point with over 600,000(more than that was got for Pickering and Martinez) on RTÉ. But otherwise Dunne isn't going to get his chance.

So it's time to take the pathetically poor offer to fight in a place where the fight shouldn't be taking place because the real reward is that European title belt. Munroe was very lucky he was fighting Matirosian tonight and not his cornerman(Mayhar Monshipour), a prime Monshipour would have finished Munroe within 3 rounds and I'd bet on the current version who hasn't fought in two years to finish him aswell.

I read what ur saying big ears but there comes a time for any boxer to actually fight a meanful fight if he is that good at least to prove to himself how good he is !!!

or continue letting b dunne fight bums on rte for bigger money , you have to ask yourself whats the point here ??? ,

money aside does he want to be world champion , or does he want to keep avoiding any half decent boxer like munroe

their is only so long B Dunne can keep fooling the public into thinking how far he is progressing by beating over the hill mexicans

even u at this stage must want to see has b dunne learned anything from his defeat , its time to step it up , FOR GOD SAKE MAN , Munroe has the belt , if he is offering him a title shot take it Bernard should Go to the UK and beat him

And make more money in Ireland defending it !!!

I hope B dunne does fight him , win , lose or draw at least he is accepting challanges

I disagree with you about Munroe who the hell as B Dunne fought thats is anyway fantastic either

I have seen Munroe fighting twice in Uk last year and although he is by no means the finished product he is actually a sound bloke and a good fighter

dont forget Big Ears , I dont ear B Dunne making any challenges to him , or Kiko lately do you ? just waffle about how they cant fight !!!

If you look at my post again I advocated Dunne actually taking this chance despite the poor options(maybe you thought I was being sarcastic).

Munroe was fighting in front of about 1,000 people yesterday and tickets hadn't even sold out the day before despite a bumper undercard involving 2 English title fights and Matthew Hatton, with 10 fights in total.

I get the feeling that Munroe is the type to work to a gameplan and if that isn't working he doesn't really know what to do. He's not a bad fighter by an means but I could see Dunne outboxing him over 12.

By the way Dunne hasn't fought a Mexican in 4 years, and he wasn't over the hill either...........but I know what you mean.

i dont know if he should accept it, there offering him a deal that makes no sense and they no that financially its stupid for dunne to take, there taking the piss and just trying to look good. i'd like if he took it and won then move on to some other promoter and they would be sick.

i believe that they dont think he'll take it..

What does the latest offer involve?

Maloney only mentioned that it'd be in England on Sky, presumely it would be in another leisure centre and thus couldn't generate that much money and likely monetary wise the offer will have to be quite poor as Maloney isn't going to decide to lose money for the chance of Munroe to get a big win in a risky fight.

IMO I can see dunne waiting for a mandatory from the EBU and then outbidding maloney to get it on over here. Dunne is all about the ca$h. He'll be in no rush to head accross the water.

That could take 18 months, Martinez is the next mandatory and Munroe won't have to defend against him till next year and after that Maludrottu will be mandatory which will mean Dunne waiting around for a very long time.

true big ears, but i questin dunne's commitment to the sport so i don't think that'd matter too much to him. he may make an offer to munroe, but there's no way he'd fight outside ireland for the title

Why should Bernard risk another defeat for pittance, when he can make a lot lot more cash fighting bums in Ireland. Belt or no belt, going to England to face a fighter who might beat you is not what Dunne's camp is about.

If Dunne was truly serious about stamping his claim as the best European, we would know about it by now!

    this fight will not happen....
i mean dunne has been approached a few times to fight munroe,
long before munroe won the EBU title!!
Dunne is fair too wrapped up in money with that brian peters fool,
sure do you remember what brain said after bernards last fight?
When asked "whats next for bernard?"
he replied, "Well we've been approached by a few names, Munroe being one of them. But Munroe is tied in with Sky Sports therefore the fight could not be in dublin and would have to broadcast on Sky Sports....
Bernard needs a few more warm up fights like this (speakin on the one he had just fought) and then we will decide where we go from there."

Brian Peters see's bernard dunne as major oppourunity to make money,
and doesnt want him having absolutely anything to do with Sky Sports whatsoever!!
Unless dunne tells brian to **** off, this fight sure as hell will not happen

    Agreed.

Its a shame because I think if Dunne had of stayed with Roach in the US and tried to make the most out of is career, he'd be held in a lot higher esteem than he is now.

But he would have been found out as a nothing a whole lot faster. He was
let go by the Americans because he wasn't up to it. In coming to Ireland, he got to prolong a career of little worth, make a heap of cash, fool for a while, a lot of people; and now it's part 2!

A promoter sees a fighter as an opportunity to make money , my god stop the presses !

If you had a chance to watch a fight on Sky Sports or RTÉ which would it be ?
