Hair loss reveals scar

Im a 30 y/o male and have noticed my hair beginning to thin. Alot of my friends are bald and I dont consider it a big deal really, in fact Ive always wanted to shave my head as I like the look. Unfortunately I have a fairly long scar going across the front front of my head that I picked up as a kid which I think is a bit ugly (unusual looking at least). Its becoming more noticeable as my hair thins at the front.

Im just wondering what I can do (if anything) about it. If I shaved my head is there anything I could do about the scar?

If not is there anything I could do about my thinning hair? Im not really into taking pills or potions/lotions etc (do those things even work?)

I heard about transplants but I still have a good bit of hair- its just the front thats starting to thin.

    Any suggestions?

There's a concealer (cosmetic product usually used by women for covering spots, etc) called Dermablend. Make up artists use it to cover tattoos and it's supposed to be able to cover birthmarks so it should cover a scar easily.

Bio-oil another cosmetic product often used by women for stretchmarks is supposed to help reduce the appearance of scars.

Bio-oil you would find in Boots or any chemist. Dermablend is not in Boots as far as I know but Sam McCauley stock it I think. Don't know where you live so don't know how much help that is. Or buy online.

Not sure of exact prices but €15-20 each approx.

I've been wet shaving my head everyday for 5 years.

I have a large circular scar on the side of my head. It almost looks like a smiley face. I've had that since I was 5.

I also have one that's about an inch and a half long from when some guys bottled me. It's in the middle of the back of my head

My advice is simple. Don't give a ****. And especially don't bother with makeup/cosmetics unless you want everyone to think you're a big girls blouse. I take it that you never would though. Because if you were that worried about looks you would have tried regaine or hair plugs or something like that.

Think of it like this. You could die your hair a different colour. You could walk around town. You might feel different, but no-one would actually know you're different. It's all in your head.

Just shave it and don't give a damn.

I have a large scar on the side of my head, about the size of two €2 coins. I'm female with long hair but when I tie my hair back I found it really noticeable and felt really paranoid about it. I asked my Mum how I got it and she had never noticed it before, turns out no one else had either. Sometimes things appear a lot worse to ourselves.

I've a pretty big scar at the top of my head from a drunken adventure about 15 years ago. These days I'm a lot more bald than then and i shave my head.
If anyone asks i just say i fell and cut my head..truth is i was pissed and stumbled and cracked my head off the wall.

Its a scar thats all, no-one really cares that much, if they do then they really are not your friend.

    Bio-Oil is a lifesaver.
I've several large scars which have faded significantly over the last few years after using this. Especially useful around the head seeing as reduced circulation to the skin in the affected areas does nothing to help heal them.
