Using NTL set top box with Vista MCE

I'm thinking of swapping my broadband to NTL as my BT bb slows up so much early evening its impossible to work with. And even earlier on Fridays

Currently I have an NTL Pace box which I've had for about 5 years. This works fine with my Vista MCE. I just got off the phone with NTL and for me to have broadband + phone added, it requires a new set top box. According to them, the set top box has the TV output + phone output + output to go into the modem. Is this right?

Does anyone have one of these, and can Vista MCE change the channels ok?

Well, I've got the "new" UPC box, it's the Pace DC621KU and I think this is what they give all new customers (unless you get the DVR):

    http://www.pace.com/corporate/products/productDetails.asp?nav=products&productID=DCABLE-DC621KU

It does have an RJ-45 connector on the back, but I have a separate cable modem from them (because I had NTL broadband for years before I upgraded to digital TV with them) and I don't have the phone service. So it is possible that the box does all three but I think they are still supplying a separate modem/router to all customers....

In any case, I've tried the box with Vista's MCE and as long as you've set the IR speed to slow, it'll work fine though you'll have to "train" in all the buttons since Vista does not recognize the Pace box and that can be a pain the first time you set it up. Once it's done though, it works fine and you can avoid the craptacular EPG that the Pace box provides, by using MCE's.
