No stamp after leaving US

I was just flicking through my passport the other day when I realised that my passport was never stamped when I was leaving the US after a J1 five years ago. The DS-2019 form that was stapled in was taken out, but no stamp to show that I left the country before the visa expired.

I was just wondering if this is normal? Could this cause problems if I try to enter the country again?

AFAIK all they need is the second part of the DS-2019 form. You don't always get an exit stamp (I have 4 entries and 2 exits)

I have never had a US exit stamp. All they do is remove the I94 from your passport. Unless they failed to take the I94 I would not worry too much.

Doesn't matter what so ever - They've got everything on record anyway..
