I've recently been testing a program (Zoogmo) which is a P2P backup program but rather than storing your data on expensive offsite servers it stores it on people who are using the same application.

After installing, you choose what files you would like to backup and add a list of partners/friends who are also using the application. The program will then encrypt your data and start uploading it.

I'd love to test it but unfortunatly have no friends :p

So If anyone feels like giving it a try then grab it from the link below and add me to their list of partners (name = ptegan) . I only intend choosing a few files (less than 5Mb) to see how it works.

erm.... call me cautious but how strong is the encryption

edit: well if its an invite-only peergroup that seems decent.

    Overheal...
    How secure is the encryption?

We use the latest and greatest encryption technology based on a combination of Triple-DES and AES 256 - giving your data the highest level of security. According to experts, it would take billions of dollars and years of effort to break the code.

Personally I don't go for their sales pitch. 'experts' and 'billions of dollars' just put me off really.

I'm just looking for a coupld of people to share a few Mbs to test the tool not lifetime partners :)
