RTÉ Radio 1 will bring live commentary of this weekend’s GAA All Ireland Hurling Final, when Waterford meets Kilkenny, and the GAA All Ireland Football Final on 21 September, when Kerry meets Tyrone, to GAA fans worldwide using various broadcast technologies. These services are part of RTÉ’s continued commitment to Irish people overseas, particularly in geographically or technically isolated areas. In addition to RTÉ Radio broadcasts, RTÉ will also broadcast the All Ireland Finals on RTÉ Television.

    LISTENERS IN THE UK

RTÉ Radio 1 will broadcast live commentary of the finals on LW 252, online at RTÉ.ie, via satellite (Europe, Hotbird and Eurobird), cable television and, available from Friday, 5 September, on Freesat.

    Thank you for the information.
I haven't used my DRM radio for months now.

Got the Morphy hooked up and waiting on 11715 now... haven't used this except as a DAB alarm clock in months!

I did some scanning and manually tried frequencies including 252khz on DRM but nothing available on the match.

Did try LW252 but reception was dire.

Something that puzzles me is the logic behind making the Summerhill Txer able to transmit DRM. It looks to me that RTE have shut down MW transmitters and use Summerhill to transmit RTE Radio 1 on LW instead. What will happen to the DRM installation? Must have cost a bit? Will it be a waste of money?

Zaphod, is that the satellite uplink direct from Croke Park that you are watching? Just seeing the producer type guy in shot with headphones makes it unlikely to be the actual programme as it leaves Donnybrook.

If so, do you get any other stuff?

Digital Space and Observe handle most of the GAA events from 1W and 5W. News feeds come direct from RTÉ sat vans on 27W.
