ok, so i left 5th year in february and since then i've been working full-time in retail. Combined with other seasonal work, i've about a years experience in the sector. I'm heading back to school now next week, fee paying, and i'm going to need a part-time job to make ends meet. Even with the one years exp, am i going to just have to go back to printing out 20 or 30 CV's and handing them out into every shop i can think of? Or do you have some advice on the basis that i DO have experience, so that i dont come across as somebody looking for their first job.

    Thanks

    -Dan

It's going to be hard to disguise the fact that you're 17 :) so whether you have experience of not, employers will still be thinking you're young.

Would you work in your local McDonalds?

Not a chance, its retail i want to do, videogame retail in particular.. unfortunately, theres only really 2 companies that do videogame retailing in Ireland, GAME and Gamestop. I've been to neither, did the whole CV and Cover Letter thing.. Now word as of yet..

However, i did get called for an interview for the new Zara they're opening in Dublin City Centre, can't make it unfortunately :(
