    Giant SCR 08
this is the beginners bike that I got, being cycling around and I find it very good, havent much to go on but it has enough gears , lightweight and a good brand make bike with quality components.

the same bike here in cyclesuperstore in tallaght was 720Euro and this bike works out 535Euro including delivery from London.

    my 2cents anyway

If it is your first road bike figuring out the right size for you is very important so you might be better off buying in person or from a shop. Having said that it is true there are good bargains to be had online. What sort of cycling are you planning on doing?

what you could do, is go into a shop and check the bike out, and that it feels good, right size etc, and then order it online.......

ye I went into cyclesuperstore and got sized up,
I was very interested in getting the bike but he would not budge on the price so I though to myself id have a look around on the net and found devercycles to be very helpful as well as cheap, so I bought 2 Giant SCR 3 '08 of them, 1 for me and a friend
saved money is better in my pocket isnt it!!

agree wholeheartedly - this cannot be empasised enough - there is so much more to selecting the right size than the height of the saddle from the ground.

Have to agree with this, only bought my first 'proper bike' bike about six months ago. I was debating with myself for ages about buying online (possibly cheaper/more choice) verses from a shop (limited choice/locations/price) but eventually decided that talking to someone in person and getting a bike that fitted were the most important things to look for.
I bought in a shop in Galway and the bike fits prefectly, though I could probably have gotten a better price online...i figure that I'll be more clued in when I buy my next bike:D (maybe next year...)
