NTL DIGITAL VALUE: ANYBODY LOSE "VIRGIN 1" "DAVE" AND A FEW OTHERS RECENTLY?

    for me these have channels have switched to "access denied" mode
    but they were working two days ago
    do i need to reset my ntl box? , and do i need a pin number to do so.
    i was not given any pin numbers at installation

    All working for me, try to unplug the decoder for a minute or so

    I'm on the Go Digital Max but you should still have them if you had them before.

    hi all,

    wondered if anyone can help out.

    The NTL box is no longer working, its the standard older version they use to give out when you subscribed for the basic channels and it was 'fixed' to allow viewing of all channels. now, only few are showing. think its called a 'subbed box'

    please help, am so desperate.

    Ring NTL and ask them to replace the box.

    I think that's the only answer you will get here, as that the box you are using is modified to steal from UPC.

    Get a legal subscription and it will work. You will also be able to call UPC to fix it.

    I have the same problem. I unpluged the decoder rebooted box under help menu and still cant get them back.

    Getting an access denied message on Dave for me too. Tried hard and soft resets but no luck in getting it back. It's strange as it used to always be access denied up until about a month ago, along with UK Gold and some others, but they're all coming through now.

    I'm having the same problem, on the Basic digital pack, tried re-booting earlier, to no avail. Will call NTL later. I know Dave was one of the channels I am missing along with Living +1 and UKTV Gold+1 to name a few that worked earlier in the week. When I skipped through the channels previously the only channel that brought up that 'You have not subscribed to this channel' message was that one with the Psychics on it, naturally I was gutted :D but now there are at least 10 giving that message.

    Just upgraded from the analogue cable to NTL digital last week.... Worked fine for a couple of days but for the last two days lost most channnels. Some say I don't have access and others just come up as a black screen with no sound.
    Rang NTL yesterday and they were having some big time problems. They sent me a re-boot signal but didn't help. They say that they're aware of the probs and they're working on it....

    Nava, that should read ring NTL and ask for a legit subscription.

    I don't think I shouldn't be saying this - mods feel free to delete if I amn't -but the PIN for doing the factory reset is 131 for me...

    Despite resetting still no Dave - they sent a remote ping to me too to no avail...

    I'd say they'll sort it out in time - hopefully before the next season of Top Gear!

    sorry - you're right.

    The first number is 0000 (presuming you haven't changed it to stop kids looking at ppv etc.) to start the reset

    The second number you'll be asked for is after the restart, to scan for channels. It's 131

    Exact same problems here,I had UKGold+1,Dave,UK Drama,Living+1,Paramount2,Virgin1,Bloomberg,Discovery Travel&Living but now none of these work :mad: all are saying "access denied" :confused: .
    If they've made the very unwise decision and have removed them permanently from the value pack line up then they need to adjust their ad's online and on tv because they are currently false advertsing.

    They haven't removed them from the Value Pack, they seem to be having difficulties nationwide since Thursday. I rang this morning, got through after 25 minutes :eek: and the Customer Service agent had me unplug the box, remove the card, she sent a signal, got me to plug the box back in, put the card back in, and re-set the box all to no avail. She is going to get someone else to look at the problem, could be Monday, so you'll need to ring them unfortunately.

    UPC / NTL or wahtever they are f***ing called this week SUCK. How can they do this. I eventually got through to customer service today and they pedaled some cock and bull story.

    Funny thing is i now have all these channels and i was wondering were they came from as i never had them before. It is just in the last few weeks.

    I put it down to there new €20 deal. As im am paying more now. I was on the cheapest deal. So i just put it down to if im paying more, i get more.

    Rang them up as I am missing a few Dave few others ??

    Said they would send a signal down and that it should clear it up but there is a wait

    So will check later to see if I have got all channels

    After my call to them on Saturday and unsuccessful attempts to fix the problem, they promised it would be sorted yesterday and it was, all channels back on Value pack for me.

    I was having the same issue, however all my channels returned to normal sometime yesterday. I did not reboot any hardware.
    I guess they are slowly resolving the issues?

    I had called on Thurs and Fri and accepted the "we have noted your account number and will send a signal" etc but nothing happend. Today I spoke with a CS person and she said that wouldn't have worked and she sent the signal and said I would be up and running in 60 mins. I seem to be sorted partially. I got back my kiddies channels (phew!!) but still no sign of Sky 1 & 2 or BBC 3 & 4 and I am getting the unsubscribed message on Dave and a few others. I will ring again tomorrow.

    The girl on CS said they were swamped as this was a nationwide problem. I have an old digibox so I am beginning to think I will need one of the newer ones. I don't see that there is much else they can do if they have sent the signal and I am still missing channels.

    I had the same problem. After a phone call they restored all channels again.
