me and art were just looking at the team and its going to be next to impossible to pick it, we defo have a fantastic chance of doing well, we just need to get fit and stop making silly mistakes for goals.

27 players on the list, but looking at it, i know theres about 5 or 6 who are not sure.....i think our final squad will be around the 20 mark, with about 15/16 showing up for matches. thats exactly what we need.

I have also put in the apperances after each person so far in our 3 freindlies.

for the people that have not shown up so far, only Martin and Dave have confirmed that they will play next year.

ASAP for the fees, I mentioned it again to everyone last night to get the money in.

Great to see real momentum in the pre-season lads and so many new players making an impact - all bodes very well for the next season.

With an improved general standard a big squad becomes harder to manage as there's more people believing they should be getting a game each week. Handled correctly, that's a good problem to have and that balance is what Des and his assistant will have to figure out, but it's solely their responsibility and they'll rise to it I'm sure.

Has there been any more discussion about regular training sessions at the recent games? As above, a higher quality squad leads to more competition for places and having a session for lads to at least demonstrate what they can do becomes more important - the manager mightn't decide to pick his team based on training performances (as some lads will have committments that mean they can't make it but do sessions at other times), but it would at least get everyone more familiar with playing together and give the subs a chance to get the manager thinking.

I'm working on it, but I think Kenny mightn't be back - has a lot going on with his work setup etc. Likewise, I think we really need Karl but he was adamant he wasn't coming back but I'm not giving up on it just yet.
