RTE has acquired the rights to Harper’s Island, a CBS murder mystery series. It has not yet been decided when the programme will run.

Harper’s Island, which stars Irish actress Elaine Cassidy, is one of the more talked-about shows currently on offer from US networks, whose output is limited because the writers’ strike halted production in the first part of this year.

Harper’s Island is a mystery series in which members of a wedding party are murdered by an unknown killer.

AFAIK this hasn't been shown on US TV yet. If it is any good, RTE will probably schedule for screening after midnight, e.g. Damages, West Wing, Mad Men.

It must be depressing to train as a journalist, dreaming of being the next Woodward or Bernstein, and end up transcribing or paraphrasing press releases from RTE :rolleyes:

On the other hand, futoncritic reckons the pilot shows promise and that it could be a little gem
