Locked in an apartment complex!

Just my luck! On my way home from the clubs, I spot an open door to a newly completed apartment complex and wander on in. I go up the lifts and look around the corridors before heading to the basement. Unfortunately I find myself walking through a one way door that needs a residents card to get back in through. Now I'm stuck in a locked car park! What the **** am I supposed to do? I'm working at ten and I don't know what time this carpark opens at!!!!!

Oh dear, at 3am, i don't think there's much you can do only curl up in a ball and sleep :)

That, or smash a door in and pay for it later (if you're really desperate).

You'd want to call the guards or break out, you'll get pretty cold soon I'd say. Unless the heating is on?

Thank God for boards mobile eh? :D

If it's newly completed and there's no-one living there yet, you better watch out for security. Otherwise find a dark corner to fall asleep in and wait until someone is leaving and stroll out behind them like you have every right to be there. Put your back to the wall while sleeping as well, because if there's one thing movies have taught me, it's that basement car parks are full of rapists.

    ha, this is quality....

OP, you have only one choice, severe your own arm and throw it at a passer by to attract their attention.

    Go to the vehicle gate.

See if there is a sensor or button you can trigger to open the gate.

Set off a fire alarm, you are bound to get someone out of bed, If they question you tell them its only a fire drill. :D

For some reason this reminds me of the time I got locked out of a town center appartment in just my boxers. Don't know why though.

Do you not think it would have been unwise for me to call the Gardaí? Firstly, they have better things to be doing at that time of the morning. Secondly, technically I'm trespassing and I'm not sure they would act so sympathetically to someone dragging them away from what they should be doing. Finally, there was a tonne of cars down there so it was safe to assume that people would be leaving a few hours later so I saw no reason to panic and simply tried to find ways to keep myself occupied.

In essence, calling the Gardaí would have been the worst possible thing I could have done! As for my friends, well, they were so paralytic that had they found me, they would have just ended up locked down there with me!

    Nice apartments btw.

I think someone trapped inside a building constitutes as something the gards would respond to, really all you'd have to do is explain the situation to them and I would think they'd have the cop on to realise a criminal wouldnt think twice about smashing the door down and definately wouldnt ring the gards to come get him out :D

You should have phone them saying a cat was stuck in a vent somewhere...
They'd have more sympathy over the cat that you, and then you'd be able to sneak out.

I might have thought the same if I were drinking. But honestly all you had to explain was what you were at and how you got trapped in there - the worst they'd do is give you a slap on the wrist tbh.

If it was one of those fob operated doors they're usually held shut with a magnet.
Happened to me before in the appt complex I was living in.
One BIG sharp tug on the door will normally sort ya out. The magnets are only rated to a certain strength.

This is nearly Jigsaw level of insanity. Stalking to a who'll new level.

I don't know who lives here but iam stalking them!
Im checking out the car park later with a golf club especially for you OP!

Gards would take a dim view of some pervert who "happened to get stuck" in a car park.
Especially as there have been a lot of fires caused in by down and outs under just such circumstances.
I reckon they'd run the OP in for a good grilling/hiding.
