What is the best way to get a website popular on Google search browsers? Are the Google sponsored ads expensive?

There are a myryd of things you should do/have to do. Have a look in the Tec>Web>internet marketing section of the boards (where this will most likely move)

In the meantime – PM me your site and I will give you some pointers (free naturally as I am a particularly benevolent moon today!)

sorry -4got this - well it all depends of the keyword(s) and how many 'clicks' you want (can afford) and the amout of peopl 'bidding' for those words.

as blue says there a whole load of factors involved in getting a decent ranking on "natural search" on google, the internet is full of reasonably good advice on how to go about doing this (if you're the programmer) or lots of agencies willing to do it for you , for a few. Adwords are as expensive as the popularity of your search key-words, if you are trying to be in the top five for "sexy teens" its going to cost you a lot to get clicks if you're wanting to be ranked for "wholesale semtex" its going to be cheaper. Very easy to set up an adwords a/c on goolge and test what the likely costs / level of traffic would be for you , if the income generated is more than it cost you , cool.

    A few simple pointers:

Keep it simple and don't go for any 'magic' solutions - they're usually snakeoil.

Have good keyword/keyphrase-rich content on your site, but not too rich.
Have rolling content e.g. news articles, blog.
    Have good site navigation.
Construct your pages properly with titles, headings, alt/title tags.
Get 'netted' i.e. get links in and out of your site. (Important)
Have your hosting in your key market country.
Keep an eye on your rankings and web visit stats.
Have a good domain name and use descriptive filenames and folders.
    Don't use frames or Flash.
Learn to use Google and the other top handful of search engines/directories.
    Think about PPC.
