So I'm a total n00b when it comes to sampling. Have never done it before but it intruiges me greatly. My current recording software is Ableton G Live and I'm not sure whether I can sample or not. I'm not 100% as to the correct definition of sampling so if someone could give me a rundown that'd be great. I want to isolate the guitar part of a certain song so I can transcribe it, can sampling make this possible?

Hell yea! In Live's Warp function you can slow the track right down ..... and keep the same pitch...

Thanks for the reply man! Ive done that but its the vocals that obstruct the intricacies of the guitar part, is it possible to entirely isolate the guitar track?

    Probably not.

the most you can do is try to eq as much of it out as you can

alternatively you could get someone to replay it
