Hi I'm a woman and I'm due to play a matchplay competition against a man. My handicap is 34, his is 22 (differential of 12). Normally if I was playing against a woman I would get shots on index 1 to 12. However, the indices on the men's card are different from the women's card. Which indices do we use to allocate the shots? Also the Par for the mens course is 69 and women it is 71. Do I get an extra 2 shots? Any advice would be welcome. Many thanks.

Thanks Licksey. I checked out the link. Very helpful. What I got from that is that if the SSS for the Ladies course is 2 higher than the men's I get 2 extra shots. In my case I will get 14 shots. So in the match my opponent effectively plays off scratch and I get a shot on index 1 to 14 on the ladies indices. I hope that's right. Anyway I'll confirm with the Golf Club pro before I go out.

sounds about right, but looks like that link is mostly recs rather than rules so the club may decide something different.
