softmod vs. chip-mod

Hi all,
I've got my hands over cheap xbox, and decided to make mc out of it.

I read through few tutorials etc but I have one question:
can I change / upload bios on softmodded xbox? the reason I need it is that I don't have TV, and I want to connect my x to lcd monitor using vga cable.
I bought myself Frosty VGA cable

but I can't find out if I can use it with softmodded console.


I will appreciate any help on this matter.

AFAIK you need a modchip and the ability to load a Frosty VGA bios. I think you also need a sync on green compatible monitor or you will run into issues.

just need someone more experienced to tell me if its possible or not with softmod. My console is not modded yet.

Thats looks like it will work perfectly. You need to have a 1.0-1.5 XBOX, you can tell by manufacturing date on bottom. And it needs to be softmodded already for it to work also.
