Anyone ever purchased a laptop off these guys on eBay. Was interested in one of their XPS1730's with the twin 8800gtx, possibly the one for 1899 euro. Was wondering if this is good value

The spec's are as follows -

    Core2 Duo processor T9300 (2.5Ghz) with 6MB Cache
    3 YEAR WARRANTY by Dell
    4GB 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM (2x2048MB)
    320GB SATA hard drive 7200rpm (2x160GB)
    17" UltraSharp™ Wide Screen WUXGA
    DUAL 512MB DDR3 nVidia® GeForce™ Go 8800 GTX
    8xDVD+/-RW
BLuetooth module and travel remote control.

I'm assuming they picked it up from the Dell Outlet store and are now reselling it for profit but were these laptops that much cheap on Outlet and are they reliable? Is 1899 a good price to pay for one of that spec? I'd be using the odd game on it so how good are the 8800's

They have another one with a 128MB AGEIA PhysX Processing Unit Card for 50 euro's more. Would this be worth the extra bit of cash as I'm not entirely sure what the PhysX card does?

    Any Advice is always appreciated

I wouldn't bother with the physx card, no games really use it. How much is that laptop by the way.

The one without the Physics card is 1899. The one with it is 1949. Are these good deals.

I imagine that they were probably won from the outlet store for maybe 500 euro's cheaper than that and are now being resold for profit but if you were to buy one of these on the Dell website they would be 2500 at the very least. At least this is what I'm telling myself to justify the cost of getting one.

What do you guys think. I really like the sound of the dual 8800gtx's. I mean that's probably the most powerful setup for a laptop at the moment

Anyone think these are still a bit expensive

Yep, that's about as good as it gets for laptops in terms of gaming. You spend a good bit more on the dell site for same spec.

You are assuming right. I was watching the Dell-Outlet ebay store for a few weeks when I was buying a laptop at the end of last year.. this guy was bidding on pretty much every high end-ish laptop and reselling them for a few hundred profit.. I think he really makes money when customers from other places like UK buy em.. since Dell Outlet only ship to Ireland they have no other way to get these machines cheap enough compared to the dell site..
His prices are still a lot cheaper than the actual dell ones though..

Good luck with it whichever you choose.

Yeah he's been around for at least a year now ...spoke to him on the phone and he seemed sound enough (Lithuanian in Bray?).
