Gas fire problem

    Hi,

I went to turn the fire on today (bit chilly out there!). The fire lit for about 2 minutes and then the flames went out. The pilot light stayed on. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, any suggestions?

    Thanks

did you realise that there is a sensor in the fire - it is thermostatically controlled. when it reaches the correct tempereature you turned it on to, it goes off and on again, when colder than that level again. Easy to go to bed and forget about it sometimes and leave it on... I found same thing so looked in instr book and learned this! Was your living room door open or closed? If open, v unlikely to happen as room will never reach desired tempereature....

We had similar trouble with ours last year but rarely used it. Worthwhile double checking that it is automated before going to bed a leaving a gas fire on! You might be right MegFi but just in case...
