Hi. Tomorrow's timetable looks like this.

Location : Darcy Thompson Theatre (Main Concourse)
10:00 - Research Skills (Dermot Burns)
    11:00 - Coffee
    11:30 - Research Skills contd.
    1:00 - Lunch
2:00 - Mapping the Way Forward (Careers Service)
4:00 - Library Tour (Arts students)
    5:00 - Finish

When you say you missed the past two days, I'm not sure if you mean Mon/Tues or Tues/Wed. So here's a quick rundown of all three days.

Monday was Study Skills and Memory Techniques with Dermot Burns.
Tuesday was Memory Techniques with Joe Thornton.
Wednesday was Applied Writing Skills with Dermot Burns. (There was also a library tour for non-Arts students.)

I think the official title of the course was 'Return to learning seminar'. I'm 99% certain that it's only undergrads on the course. I got a letter a few weeks back informing me about it.

Oh right, only for undergrads then! ah well! To be honest it has been so long since I did the undergrad (we were permitted to handwrite our essays!) I wouldn't have minded getting to know the ins and outs of mature student learning!
    Thanks!

I was slightly dubious as to whether I'd gain much from it after doing the foundation course last year (i.e. it's not that long since I did some learning), but I've found it to be very beneficial. Especially the memory techniques. It's unfortunate that you weren't informed about it.

I'm starting as a PG but still I'd love to have attended this. Had I known I would have tried to sneak in

There's nothing stopping either of you attending tomorrow's sessions. No sneakiness needed, just stroll on in if you want to.

I was in Galway all day today and spent the afternoon on campus. If I had known about this course I would have been there all week and attending.

As it is, I am now back in Sligo tonight and have tomorrow scheduled for last minute packing and clearing out of my beloved house here. So I cannot attend.

Is there any chance that any of you who have attended could share the love ? Would it be possible for anyone to post a few tips / notes form the seminar, I'd be particularly interested in memory techniques and research skills.

Would anyone else find such a post(s) useful? Sorry for asking (I know I have a cheek) and please feel free to say no.
