Is it just me or has this been a crazy few days for football happenings ?

    - Abu Dhabi United Group take over Manchester City
    - Man City sign Robiniho for a record 34m
    - Man City launch unsuccessful bids for Torres, Ruud + intend on signing Ronaldo for 135m
    - Berbatov signs for United at last minute for 30 odd million
    - Liverpool owners cancel plans for new stadium due to credit crunch
    - Alan Curbishley resigns
    - Kevin Keegen on the verge of leaving/being sacked from Newcastle
    - DIC Launch fresh 500m bid to buy Liverpool
    - Manchester United assign new assistant manager (Mike Phelan)
    - Antti Niemi retires
    - Controversial snippets released from Carraghers autobiography
    - Downings ex agent arrested for fraud

I know some news is bigger than others, but the above has all happened since Monday. Crazy.

Definitely a crazy few days, hopefully the football will be as exciting this weekend (though i'd settle for boring and 3 points in Ireland's case)

Been a good couple of days alright but I think Man City now have more money than sense.

    Next news I hope for:

Mike Ashley to get the hell out of Newcastle.

I think so much of this is fueled by the world we live in now with numerous 24hr rolling sports news stations, blogs, and the fan fourms.

It makes me wonder what weird and wonderful things went on 20 odd years ago that never really saw the light of day because they wasn't really enough oxygen for all the hot air back then.

aye, back when, by and large, things were dealt with in-house.

I dont think the owner saying in the press that he'd like to sign Torres & C.Ronaldo really amount so mounting and unsuccessful bid does it?

Berbatov was always going to go to Utd in the end too.It was just a matter of when and for how much

Utd have needed a nes Assistant manager sinceearly July so that was inevitable. Phelan was an obvious choice. He's been gradually workign his was up.

And the main story of the lot, Gints Freimanis joining Longford Town until the end of the season.

A lot would have said the same thing about Robinho and chelsea too though.

You'd be silly to do that with Kenyon at the helm.

Has been an interesting few days alright, almost makes up for the boredom of the international break.

Its been confirmed/reported on Sky Sports News that Man city had a 50m pound bid rejected on the last day of the transfer window.
