    Hi all,

I am clutching at straws here but I lost my wallet this morning, I probably lost it near Dorset St while cycling to work.

If anyone comes across a black wallet in that area could you drop me a PM, I am very worried about identity fraud, I have already cancelled by cards etc but still.....

I don't care about the cash that was in it but there were some important bits of info I'd hate to lose.

    Thanks for reading,

    Kone

Notify your bank and cancel all your credit / Laser cards immediatly.

If losing wallets were an Olympic sport Pighead would be without doubt be a live medal hope. There's nothing worse than that moment of realisation as you notice that where once there were two bulges in your jeans there are now only one.

You do that tap tappy thing with your pockets with eyes wide open in blind panic. You check every pocket in your coat even the inside one which you never use. "Fcuk" is the only word in your vocabulary now. Another wallet gone. Fcuk fcuk fcuk.

OP did you check your inside pocket of your coat?

Bank/credit/laser cards has been cancelled but I am still worried!

Pighead I really wish it was in the inside pocket of my coat, I really do!

I am going to swing by Dorset st after work in the hope of finding it (or at least some of it!)

Reminds me about a time when I was driving my girlfriends car and left it outside my house. I was only inside about 10 minutes and went back outside and it was gone. And here's me thinking.. 'I'm sure I parked it there. Maybe I parked it up the road? Around the corner maybe? Maybe I wasn't driving it?' Crazy thoughts when you know right well the fooking had been nicked.

Good luck OP finding that wallet

Could always try the local garda station / bank branches. If the wallet was found and the cash was taken there may still be cards to help them find you.

Jesus, if someone does that are you sure you'd even want it back?

I lost a wallet similar to that about a month ago.

The AIB rang me a few days later informing me that they were in possession of one 'Bad M*other****er' wallet. I don't think I've ever heard someone trying so hard not to laugh.

I lost it in Clontarf. Somehow made it's way to Terenure AIB. If the nice person who returned it is out there, thank you very much. I was going fairly mental.

Good luck OP! wallets have a knack of finding their way home.

It would also be worthwhile calling to the nearest Garda station, probably the Bridewell on what ever route you have been travelling. People often hand in wallets. Visa once contacted me over the phone from the UK when someone found my wallet and told me where to go to collect it, (someone phoned the customer service no on the card.)

That's sh*tty man. It's such a hassle because all the important papers, business cards and stuff you keep in there. Check with the local Garda station.

Did you keep anything with your name and telephone number in it?

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I cycled home by the same route, hoping I'd spot it by the kerb or something, no such luck :-(

I asked in a few of the local shops too but no joy there, I think I'll call the Garda station next, there's no harm.

Unfortunately I didn't have anything with my name and number on it but I did have a few membership cards in it so if a nice person finds it they might post it to the club.... I'm not going to hold my breath though.

    thanks again,
    Kone

I went into town one day to buy an Playstation 2 game but it hadn't been released yet so i walked back to where I'd locked the bike, and bumped into an old school mate. Ended up leaving the bike there and going for a pint or 7 and then met up with my own mates who happened to be in town, then back to a free gaff which lasted all night and half the next day.

Went to work the following Monday and went to collect the bike at lunch-time but it was gone. I was freaked. It had been there for 3 days, granted, but it was outside Store St. Garda station. Anyway, I was like "fcuk it" and chalked it down to experience.

On my new bike about a month later, went in to buy the game and deliberately didn't lock it outside Store st, but went to the one in the middle of O'Connell St., near the bridge. Bought the game came back, and realised my new bike was
locked right beside my old one which I had drunkenly re-locked in that spot a month previously :o

Nearest station is Fitzgibbon Street, btw.

That's fantastic! Had you still got the key?

OP why are you so sure you lost it on Dorset street? If you felt it slipping out around there why not stop straight away and look for it?

    Ha! Good Story!

One thing I hate is when I lose something and mention it to somebody, they then 'helpfully' say "Where's the last place you had it?"

    IF I F*CKING KNEW THAT ........................

    Best of luck OP..
