    Hey people.

Just wondering how many have you succumb to holiday theft? Mainly in your residence? I'm off to Lanzarote in October and will definitely be renting out a safe. Any good tips or hiding spaces? Any bad stories?

I'll give u the most ironic burglary in history !

A few years ago while i was living at home with my dad he was on holidays so i was home alone. One of my brothers was also on holiday at the same time so i was looking after his house too. One evening i decided i'd go down to the brothers house to check everything was ok, hung around there for half an hour or so to keep the dogs company and left. When i got back to my place it had been burgled while i was away :mad::mad: Feckin' scumbags had everything pulled out and were gone when i got back and they got off with a few hundred quid my dad left behind that even i didn't know about

So there ya go the most ironic burglary in history.

I guess the usual hints and tips apply wherever you go. For example...

Don't bring overly expensive jewellry, never bring out too much cash and don't bring all your credit/debit cards out at the same time.

Use the safe, thieves already know the best hiding places!

Certainly make sure that you can transfer money easily between accounts and cards in case one card does go missing/gets stolen.

    Make sure you're adequatly insured.

We stayed in a villa in a very quiet area in Alicante ( by quiet I mean the area was like a typical suburb estate). As we got ready to go out one day, we had left the front door open (again we never saw anyone around the place) and someone nipped in and robbed a handbag. although we had noticed and reported the credit card theft within 20 minutes, the thieves had run up a £1200 bill in that space of time.
