I have recently bought a recovery truck with a HIAB crane, I will be the sole operator of this equipment. People I know have told me that I require a "TICKET" to operate this equipment, is this correct.

You would need a ticket, possibly, to run it as a business. If it's for personal use, not really.

The same grey area exends on a whole bunch of other stuff. I mean, ffs, a 5-day course to use a chain saw, or (is it 3 days), to use a grinder.

Somebody needs to get a grip.

You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

yeah its a bit of a joke that ya need a ticket for a grinder, ya cant even hire a chainsaw unless ya have the ticket and bring it in

I was under the impression that a 'ticket' was only required by employees and that a sole trader didn't require one.

In saying that your insurance company may think otherwise.

I am self employed, using this truck with a HIAB, I contacted the HSA and they sent me an email showing the regulations governing such equipment in the construction industry, I am not working in the construction industry.

So, the HSA didn't answer my question
