Courtesy of a lovely un neutered tom cat i was minding, my new curtains (and hence the whole sitting room) now smell of cat pee. I got the curtains dry cleaned at a cost of €46 (nearly died ) but the smells still there. Theyre made of 50% tafetta, 20% viscose some velvet ribbon effect and the rest polyester. Do you think i could put them in at 30C wash to try and get the smell out or would it completely ruin them?

I wouldn't risk it - they'd probably shrink, and at a different rate to the lining! Have you phoned the dry cleaners? They might take tham back and do them again free of charge.
The only other thing you could try is Febreze.
